CENTER HILL LAKE, Tenn. – May 21, 2026 – Capts. Jared Smith and Michael Brown, longtime friends and business partners, have expanded operations with the addition of a second port, TowBoatUS Center Hill Lake. The pair also owns TowBoatUS Dale Hollow Lake. Both locations are part of TowBoatUS, North America’s largest on-water towing fleet of more than 330 on-water towing ports nationwide. 

A captain for more than five years, Captain Jared Smith is a Center Hill Lake native, who grew up on its waters with a boating legacy that spans generations. His grandparents were longtime slip holders at Hurricane Marina, frequently taking him out on the lake and helping shape his passion for boating. 

“What started as a deep connection to boating has grown into a business, and now a second TowBoatUS location. We’ve worked side by side for years as marine technicians, and now being able to open this port allows us to expand the level of service we can provide to boaters across the region,” said Smith. “By expanding to a second location, we’re able to significantly improve response times and better serve boaters across both lakes. Our goal is always to be a dependable call when things on the water don’t go as planned.” 

Located just an hour outside Nashville, TowBoatUS Center Hill Lake offers on-water towing assistance, fuel delivery, jump-starts, and soft ungroundings for recreational boaters. The port operates one red response vessel, a 25-foot Boston Whaler Guardian.  

Much like an auto club for recreational boat owners, Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) offers on-water towing memberships for $130/year for freshwater.
